On August 18, 2020, the construction of the Dishuihu station of the T1 digital track rubber-tyred tram demonstration line in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone officially started. Wu Jie, deputy director of Lingang New area Management Committee, Yuan Guohua, president of Lingang Group, Gu Yifeng, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of CRRC, as well as relevant cooperation units of medium volume project, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
The T1 demonstration line with a total length of 21.75 km. Nine groups of stations are currently under construction. From the Dishuihu station of Rail Transit Line 16 through the main urban area of the new district, the university town, and international logistics park, Luchaogang community, heavy equipment industrial zone and Nicheng community.
The construction of the T1 line highlights the themes of wisdom and green, adopting Digital Rail Trolley mid-capacity bus, which is newly developed by CRRC, and the vehicles will run on the preset ground magnetic track.
